A couple of years ago I found chamomile growing in my neighbor’s yard. We harvested it with plans to dry it and use it to make tea. At that time, I did not have running water, so my neighbor said she would wash it. I sat to chat with her and laid the chamomile on the ground next to my lawn chair. Her mini dog ran over and lifted his leg on the chamomile.
“Urine is sterile,” I said.
So we got a bucket of water and gave it a good rinse, then hung it to dry.
It remains hung, still drying, in her little farm museum. Better as a display item than for tea, I think.
