AF celebrates 1.5K subscribers!

I have not promoted this publication myself as much as my lovely friends have done on my behalf (read this wonderful interview of Jake here: whyisthisinteresting.su…). Although he’s kindly arguing that AF deserves to be read by even more people, I’m already so grateful that all of you are here (still?!🥹)

Astoundingly, AF was also mentioned in a viral Reddit thread (reddit.com/r/kpopthough…) written by an international fan who found herself in neiyu and the fanquan ecosystem. Someone suggested AF as recommended reading on this matter and I cannot believe I’m now a sort of internet reference point on Chinese entertainment. Thanks for being here and spreading the word <3

Finally an update on writing: I’ve neglected my fan interview series long enough and I’ve been consumed with guilt, but I have at last found a fascinating specimen of a human (at a friend’s wedding of all places, yes I am a workaholic) to feature in the next issue of Canon Compliant and I can’t wait for you all to read it. I think she is a microcosm of Gen Alpha fanning and I am excited to see what comes out of our conversation.
