It's hard to think of an action more damaging to American greatness, or insulting to American freedom, than cutting off cancer research to punish a university for failing to align politically with the current government.
We launched one of the biggest operations deep into Russia. Dozens of successful strikes. Some targets were 4,000 kilometers away.
But tell me, did you see a single image of a bombed apartment?
A Russian mother screaming in the dust?
A Russian child buried in bricks?
No. Because we don’t hit civilians.
We fight to live, not to destroy.

Gonna say something obvious to most: real masculinity defends the defenseless, punches up not down, has compassion, and fights only on behalf of others to battle injustice or evil.
It doesn’t just lift weights and tweet in all caps and listen to Rogan and grow a beard to feel accepted by other men

America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

We finished reading and annotating Eraser Tattoo today. I haven’t had this much fun discussing a short story with students in a long time!
At the end of the story, my students were desperate to find out what happens to Dante and Shay. Do they do a long distance relationship? Break up and never see each other again? Our annotations and class discussion had students thinking they broke up for good.
So, why not ask the author?
Today, a few students wrote to Jason Reynolds to share their love of Eraser Tattoo and get some answers!
It was hard taking toddlers out to eat with no screens, but now they eat and talk with us for hours at nice restaurants.
It was hard taking toddlers on long-drives without screens, but now they’ve been across the country and back (60 hours)—reading, talking, imagining whole worlds out the window
By giving kids screens, we take away an opportunity for them to learn self-control, focus, how to entertain themselves
Screens have a place—but they are no substitute for richness of the real world❤️
