My take on “bedrotting” as a trend is that a significant portion of young people are depressed/anxious, chronically ill and/or broke. A lot of these twenty somethings probably do have aspirations and interests outside of scrolling on their phones in bed, but they are legitimately unwell as a direct result of late stage capitalism.
