The app for independent voices

Alex Randall Kittredge just sparked a discussion I really want more people in: how do we know universities have actually adapted to the AI era – not cosmetically, but structurally?

Here are my 3 markers. Add yours in the comments:

  1. They redefine the purpose of education (beyond “content delivery” when content is now cheap).

  2. They stop pretending real life starts after graduation — and integrate students into business/civic/economic reality during the degree (AI can help connect learning to real conditions, not isolate it).

  3. Assessment stops rewarding polished reproduction and starts testing reasoning, judgment, logic, and systems thinking.

If they’re still grading format compliance and “nice output,” nothing essential has changed.
