Make money doing the work you believe in
Cool little update: about a week of so back, I stumbled across a somewhat underground artist and posted their work here (instagram.com/thaoopera…).
Well, late last week, he and I got to talking and I’m quite proud to announce that we’ll be working together on the upcoming Pseudo Gods essay!
But thats not why I’m here, promise.
I wanted to tell you a little more about him, because we had a quick phone call yesterday, and I think he’s honestly pretty interesting. We talked around 2:00pm (my time) via WhatsApp, and he had been outside, as far as I could tell, apparantly doing something for at least four hours (I had thought it’d been construction related). But nope, he and a buddy were apparantly hitch-hiking themselves all the way into Paris to try and put on this live music gig of theirs (they arrived at 7:00am the next morning). He mainly does expe and techno. Pretty solid stuff, honestly. I’ll link to his soundcloud below.
Anyhow, we then got to discussing the project and our various inspirations, and what each of us were into. Turns out, on top of being a musician, he’s also an aspiring comic book artist — and he’s very grateful to everyone here who recently followed him recently! We got into talking about French comics specifically, and he strongly reccamends one called Silent Jenny.
I’ll be checking that one tonight, I think. And with that, I’ll also be wrapping up this little note (it’s already a bit long-running). So yeah, I’m excited to be working with him, and hopefully we can bring you guys some pretty cool stuff! Until then, enjoy some more of his amazing work! (and check out his music)
