Make money doing the work you believe in

In April 2026, a paper appeared in Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience by Kotler, Mannino, Fox, and Karl Friston, one of the most cited neuroscientists alive. The paper arrived at the same correction through different evidence.

They cite longitudinal cohort research showing that roughly two-thirds of people who live through trauma do not develop chronic PTSD. They recover. No one released anything from their tissue. Their bodies, which were always listening, kept doing what bodies are built to do.

If bodies recover on their own, and the research has been saying so for years, the question is why so many women have spent the last decade paying for the opposite story.

For more than a decade, women have been the primary market for somatic release. They have been told that their anxiety lives in their hips and their grief in their jaw, and they have paid practitioners to find and release what was never there in the first place. Thousands of hours and resources, building a relationship with a body the model told them they could not interpret without help.

That pattern is older than the metaphor of “your body keeps the score”.
