I don't really get the resurgence of iPods. It's not a physical medium for listening, you're still playing files that live in the ether. You're still holding a device that is the medium for playing thise files like a smartphone is. I had an iPod and it was great for the time, but if I'd had a choice between it and streaming, is never have bought an iPod. Vinyl, CDs, and cassettes are awesome. iPods? Meh.
