I think we ALL need a very simple explanation, probably cartoon-ish, describing why it is the American consumer, who is paying the tariffs... not some country that happens to have produced the commodity WE are purchasing. For instance, Japan is NOT paying the 25% extra... the tariff... the $600... on a Nissan that was once priced at $24,000. Trump continues to push the goofy position that the $600 is "new" money coming into the US Treasury from Japan... NO. US citizens are paying for his tariffs.
