El Portal is Enraged that Adam Neumann Acted Like Adam Neumann
El Portal residents are furious after a 75-year-old church was demolished to make way for a new private school backed by Adam Neumann, the unstoppable force who famously does whatever he wants and rarely pauses for public opinion.
The project, tied to his wife’s Montessori-style school SOLFL (Student of Life, For Life), will replace the longtime Rader Memorial United Methodist Church with a K–12 campus serving up to 350 students. Locals say demolition began before they felt the plan was fully aired.
A packed town hall followed. Neumann did not attend.
We say this with love, what exactly did they expect? When Adam Neumann enters the neighborhood, was the assumption that he’d host a drum circle, crowdsource design tweaks, and wait for unanimous approval? Not bloody likely.
