In England, the first hantavirus contacts who have been quarantining in Liverpool will be allowed home today

The decision has been NOT to use legal powers to compel them to isolate at home, which I think is the right thing (this can change if the public are at any point deemed at risk)

We’ve learnt from the pandemic that perceived over-use of legal powers can severely damage trust in institutions - trust that is hard gained but easily lost
