It’s not. A Renaissance painting and a tik tok edit are not a matter of “well they’re both art so it’s really up to you what you like best!” One is a mastered and refined approach to the sublime and the other is ephemeral slop. It’s not doing anyone any favors to dissolve the distance between them. It’s making us all dumber and killing our understanding of aesthetics.
