I feel like I’m seeing a lot of notes calling substacks under 500 small, which made me feel I needed to start a thread called tinystack? 😂
I haven’t checked in a while, but I know I have somewhere under 300. Maybe 250.
(Also, hi! If we haven’t met yet, I write Wild Cozy Free, a community for likeminded souls striving to be their messy authentic selves, + New Yorker Goes West — all about my recent move form New York to San Diego. I also host a podcast, through WCF)
My first 100 subscribers came easily in a month, and the next hundred came more slowly, over my first year.
I’m less focused on quantity and more so on quality these days - even though making $ from my writing is always one of the dreams. I am so grateful to me consistent paid subscribers, and the way they honor my work. I’m equally grateful to my free subscribers who show up week after week on this journey with me.
