I just rebuilt my entire Claude workspace from scratch. Same operation, same business. New folder structure, new context profiles, new methodology. Nothing carried over without a full audit.

Cruft accumulates fast. Assumptions and memories from six months ago still sitting in your files. Naming you've outgrown. Structures that fit the old version of the operation but not where you are now.

Patching adds layers. Rebuilding clears them.

If your tools are getting better fast — and Claude's are — your system has to keep up. That means periodic teardowns. Full audits. Throw out what doesn't earn its place. Rebuild with everything you've learned since.

It's not admitting your old system was broken. It's keeping up with what's possible now.
