Good thing about the collapse of literacy and the contraction of media is that you don’t have to worry about politics that much. Even a few years ago, if you wanted to be a writer you’d very quickly realize that the incentives would force you to care about politics. If you didn’t fit into the left wing magazine mode you were left with some anti-woke shtick. The right wing people would want you to join their crew. All of it was very lame. With all this stuff shrinking and collapsing and the incentives disappearing, there’s a lot more freedom. This is the no man’s land era. Some people are sad about this, but I like it very much.
