Knowing yourself, as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent adult, is definitely not a given. It is something you have to build, often from scratch, in your forties or fifties, after decades of building yourself around everyone else.
It’s a significant undertaking. Treat it as such.
The work is slow. It takes months and years. You turn your attention inwards over and over and let yourself be surprised by what is actually there.
You have been someone else's expert for a very long time.
You are still learning what it means to be your own.
