“The most successful social media accounts today are rich”. The author means literally rich, right? People with money to hire a team, produce more content and invest in boosting it. I see tons of garbage on those “most successful social media accounts” (as vague as that is). I can agree that self-promotion doesn’t work, but given the understanding of “enshitfication” process, I can’t see the point in working to create meaningful content to post on social media — posts that create more value for the shareholders of those platforms, especially Instagram.
