The WW3 angle is a distinct possibility, because if Hamas is acting on Moscow's instigation, this would be an excellent means for pulling NATO attention away from Ukraine, and if it escalates the conflict between Israel and Iran (a principal backer of Hamas), so much the better for Russia.
