It’s Easter Sunday afternoon and time for a flash tale from me. Hope you enjoy The Wrong Side of Town. Appearances can be deceptive, can they not?

‘This is the address, see here, 60 Stella Avenue.’
‘Why bring me to the wrong side of town, Steve? I thought you wanted to impress me?’
‘I do but not in the way you think. This is an opportunity for us, if I’ve got this right. There is treasure here my grandmother left me. And it could help your granny.’
‘How?’
‘I need you to confirm something given you work at the auctioneers.’
‘Yes in admin, not valuation.’
‘You should be able to tell me whether I should get something valued.’
‘Okay, let’s have a look.’

Two hours later…
‘It was worthwhile?’
‘Oh yes, there’s no mistaking the hallmark. I’ve read up on those.’
‘Can you make an appointment for me to see your boss?’
‘I’ll sort this first thing tomorrow. Your generous fifty per cent profit share offer will offset my grandmother’s care fees. Now let’s enjoy the rest of Sunday. Or are you not up for a date now you’ve picked my brain?’
Steve grinned. ‘I’ve always believed in business before pleasure, Beth.’
