One unspoken about aspect of Vance being tasked with schooling Israel in public, rather than Trump: in the American system, the vice president is next in line for power if the president, say, gets assassinated.

By assigning this role to Vance, Trump signals to Israel that assassinating him will not help Israel. It is kind of an insurance policy.

And Israel is attacking Vance for the same reason: if Trump gets incapacitated for any reason, they want to paint people's imagination with Vance's supposed hostility to Israel. and mark him as a primary target for Zionist Hazard Removal (VIP).

And if this sounds all to conspiratorial and crazy, believe me; this moment is absolutely existential for Zionism, and they will do whatever to preserve their power. Nothing is beyond the pale, or impossible.
