By celebrating Beltane, we lend our fire to then world we want to build: an enchanted world that honors the turning of the seasons and the vitality of the life force as it flows through the living earth. We honor our sexuality and we practice the rituals of protection that, as we have seen, are all too necessary under patriarchy. We celebrate ancient goddesses, our ancestors, and the spirits of land and place; as we do so, we give them new life. But we also renew our own lives in the process.
