Happy Sunday warriors! Last day of the week. Day 4 of recovery from Arizona Monster 300. I'm just going to be completely honest - I'm still quite destroyed. Normally by day 4 you get at least a hint of recovery starting, but I'm still shuffling around like an old man with immense soreness radiating from everywhere.
Good.
It's a physical reminder that I did something genuinely hard out there. I'm actually glad this soreness is sticking around longer than usual. It confirms that I really did push myself to the absolute limits and left absolutely nothing in the tank. Emptied every reserve. My body isn't letting me off the hook easily, and I appreciate that feedback. My recovery protocols right now are like a full-time job - sauna sessions, cold plunges, red light, eating constantly, sleeping when possible. Long and time-consuming but necessary. But just like life, ultrarunning, or anything else worthwhile, I know that if I keep showing up and moving forward consistently, I will get there eventually. Recovery takes as long as it takes. Can't rush it, just have to trust the process. Forward motion, even when forward is slow. LFG
