"When you switch on the dirty tap, sh*t water is going to flow out for a substantial amount of time. Then clean water is gonna start flowin'” -Ed Sheeran

I was afraid for a very long time that, as soon as I open my creative tap (a.k.a starting my Substack), endless liters of dirty water is going to flow out. I procrastinated in fear thinking what if I fail and people laugh at me.

The truth is we suffer more in our imagination than in reality. So, one day when I decided to just open the tap in September, there was no looking back.

Sure, the first batch of posts that I wrote were just “okay”, but instead of trying to perfect it, I continued to press “submit”.

And as more people started noticing my work, I re-gained my confidence once again and my posts started improving in quality. Don’t get me wrong: I probably still write cr** from time to time, but instead of feeling fearful, I just reset and move on.

So, to those, who are afraid to let out the first batch of gunk out of the tap, just get it over with. That’s already a step that will take you so much closer to your goal post (whatever it may be).

One more thing: In a world, where we are consuming so much information from different channels at all times, it is often overwhelming at times. So, what has helped me a lot in connecting the dots, is I write all the ideas and sources down and when I have done that, I see the dots slowly connect and I feel a beautiful sense of peace when I finally start to write my post.
