I really loved this essay. Keturah takes something that should be a simple, common-sense thing and not only fleshes it out but highlights its profundity. I’ll be reading it again.
“Vibe with your husband” might be the single most important piece of marriage advice given to women, and furthermore, choosing to marry someone you want to vibe with should be a predominant vetting tool women use on themselves when sorting through possible mates and their…traits.
I can’t really speak for men, but I can say that from my perspective, this looks like one of his primary and deepest needs, and the contention and attempted emasculation that ensues when this easy companionship through subtle and artful surrender doesn’t manifest creates a lifetime of missing each other and drumming up trouble where it doesn’t exist.
