About two years ago a friend of mine suggested recording prayers, asked, answered or not, and when. We both use a recipe box of cards. On the front I write the prayers, on the back I write the ways it was answered or if the request shifted or vanished.
An example - asking for the guts to let go of one of our college kids during a particularly tough moment years ago. I just missed him and he seemed so far away but I knew to leave him be. A couple days later he called and asked me for a recipe. He was making dinner for his buddies. It felt like an answer to that prayer.
New Agers love to adapt “ask and it is given” - Mark 11:24, it is all over the place in “getting what you want” secular material. But the important part of that verse is the following one, 25. The importance of forgiveness first. That is what tracking prayers has granted me. Putting forgiveness in my feet and walking it around.
Also, reading the prayers back is good to do on a droopy day!
