Happy to see at least one native iris that survived recent logging on timberland. I didn't know until recently that it is common practice to aerial spray herbicide during major logging practices. There used to be huge drifts of these on this property I am hiking on, now there are very few left. And FYI the Trump administration is lobbying for harvesting of all remaining timber on federal land. I will be seed collecting as much as I can on a small BLM land behind my home here in Beavercreek, and encourage people to try and get out to federal forests and do the same - before these wildflowers and the fauna that rely on them are gone.
