Finally saw Anora and loved it, but my husband and I had very different reactions to that mid-movie setpiece in the living room.

I enjoyed it and laughed, but at the whole time I was also on edge waiting for things to go horribly wrong becasue of how vulnerable Anora was. I remarked to my husband that I just wanted her to pull on a pair of sweatpants.

He didn’t have that feeling and just thought it was hilarious and even remarked that she was wearing more clothes than she had in most of the movie up to that point.

I wonder if this is a male/female thing… Women having a more finely attuned radar to risk?
