Transhumanism and singulartarianism is basically techno-progressives admitting that their values are so antilife, and so corrosive to any stable order… that unless they can find a way to Literally produce the philosopher stone (exponential life extension and infinite value) their world will collapse.

They intuit the exact same thing the survivalist peppers intuit, that we’re out of runway and on current trends will have something like a 30 years war…

But instead of pulling back and changing their toxic self-destructive values, and trying to get back to some set of values that can last more than a generation they think that if they can double down enough they’ll manage to create an infinite life and infinite value hack, and the fact their philosophy destroys an ever accelerating amount of value and life won’t matter.

They’d rather become Evangelion orange goo than admit their racist uncle was right.
