The app for independent voices

I started my Substack “Cafecita Break: A Disabled Latina’s Corner” last month as a way to heal my relationship with writing.

I’ve been a professional writer for years, having the privilege and opportunity to write for major outlets. But it has been traumatizing over the years for various reasons. And because of that, I stopped expressing myself and that medium. But I truly missed it, and I decided to take the opportunity to write on my own terms again.

And Substack was an avenue that allowed me to do that. I’ve only written seven articles so far, but we just hit a big milestone of 100 subscribers.  And I’m so happy and thankful that my writing has reached so many people and have people relate to my work.

I still have many articles that I will be publishing soon. I hope you enjoy reading them. And thank you so much for helping me fall in love again with writing. 🤍
