Writing is a terrible art in a lot of ways.

Way too lonely.

Not really performative. No audience, no lookers, no back and forth with the reader.

Tough to connect on a superficial level. That’s why it’s hard to do amateurishly. Hard to book a local gig as a writer unlike painter or musician.

It’s one isolated imagination to a totally separate and isolated imagination with no real feedback loop that matters to the creating of the art.

One good thing tho. No other art comes as close to the intimacy of sex. One imagination inside the other. Nothing can affect you long term like a good book.
