In certain domains, receiving exactly what you initially ordered and expected is a positive outcome.
However, there are situations where you may not fully understand what you need and rely on the professionals you hire to help define and build the right solution. The challenge is that they often don’t fully understand the requirements either. This sets off a discovery and development process that ultimately leads to a final product that is likely a much better fit for the original problem.
In those domains, we don’t accept the solution as-ordered but rather as-built, because the building process itself is a journey of discovery that results in the best possible solution within the given context.
