And this is exactly what is broken with modern-day internet.
I am still of the opinion that social media as a phenomenon, especially with algorithm-driven distribution, made the world a worse place, overall.
Pre-social media internet, with standalone websites, word-of-mouth distribution, and simple search tools, was a more natural place, which was also way more authentic and high quality.
You could never go viral/popular in the pre-social media world, if your stuff wasn’t stellar/original. Because people would not recommend it. Now, it is possible to grow just by “being consistent/present for them every day.“ Even if the actual insight kinda shallow/mediocre. And it works, that is the fact of modern day digital life.
I don’t even want to get into the AI-slop discussion, it is the final nail in the coffin of valuable internet.
