A favorite long-time ritual: breakfast with my Dad. We've been doing this for years, catching up over coffee and eggs. These days, I buy — one of those unexpected joys you discover as you grow up. I took him out again yesterday to the diner he loves in my hometown, and he told me a few more stories from his vast bank of memories. He's 77 today and still smiling as much as ever.
