My 6-year-old son just spilled a glass of water all over the iPad. I was about to raise my voice, then I remembered this very morning…

We went to a café. I ordered a flat white, opened the door, and, seemingly forgetting I was holding something in my left hand, just chucked my drink onto the pavement.

The woman in the café came out with a kettle and splashed my coffee down the road with boiling water, past the tables of people who had previously been relaxing in the sunshine. She then, very kindly, made me a new one and assured me “it’s fine, love!” even though it was very obviously not fine AT ALL.

So… I wiped down the iPad with a tissue, got my son a new glass of water, and said nothing.

Whether the iPad still works or not is a question for another day.
