Remember when your creative strategy was something like “post on an image on Instagram once a week”?

Ha!

It’s depressing to even type that.

These days the pressure to do everything and be everywhere is so exhausting, and with extremely diminishing returns, how does one keep going???

You don’t. Well. I won’t. Not the same way I have at least.

Times like this I’m reminded of the wonderful phrase “what got you here, won’t get you there”.

It’s like a multi stage rocket, you have to let go of the engine that got you off the ground, for the next engine to be able to blast you past the atmosphere you’re stuck in right now.

That’s why I’ve let go of so many things that used to be the vital engine of my creative practice. I’m grateful they helped me get here, but to get to the “there” that I’m after next, I have to be willing to throw off the dead weight that’s weighing me down.
