A common criticism of my water stats is that they're measuring freshwater rather than potable water. Most water used in data centers is potable (drinkable) water, whereas water used on farms isn't, so the data's deceptive.

After doing some digging I'm pretty confident this gets the issue completely backwards and people saying this don't know what they're talking about. Added this to the water post here: andymasley.substack.com…
