This is a photo of Hind Rajab on her 5th birthday.

Today should have been her 8th birthday, but she was murdered in Gaza, with six family members, on January 29, 2024, by sick Israeli soldiers who, after the car she was in was hit by a tank shell, peppered it with 355 bullets, as she was on a phone calling for help as her entire family lay slain around her.

When paramedics tried to approach the car to rescue her, they were murdered too.

No one has been held accountable, but I wonder if some of those who murdered Hind and her family in cold blood are haunted by what they did, and have PTSD.

They should. Perhaps their armchair leaders, safe in their offices, and the pundits on Israeli TV who celebrate every civilian death, think that calling yourselves the “chosen people” makes your frontline soldiers immune to the war crimes they commit.

There is no immunity. Human beings aren’t meant to commit such terrible crimes, and many of them will suffer nightmares for the rest of their lives about doing what they were ordered to do.

None of it, however, will bring back Hind, or any of the other 20,000 children murdered by Israel over the last 31 months - all of them innocent.
