Nothing gave me more joy than to open the cover of my new book The Paradise Pact and see the beautiful artwork by my tidda and colleague Ashanti Berry. I spotted her painting at work in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at UQ last year, and I knew immediately I wanted to share her talent and her palm trees with my readers.

So, I respectfully asked if I could licence the art and now here it is, inside the covers, and I’m thrilled.

Ashanti told me she was inspired by the Darwin sunsets where she was born and raised.
