Of course advance information on US combat operations is classified. Pretending otherwise is an insult to our troops, who all know this.

I’m going to say something that shouldn’t be controversial but will be. If you are a Christian, you can support border control and immigration being legal vs illegal. You CANNOT celebrate deportations and get off on the cruelty, and be a real Christ follower. Period

So the Republican Party has historically blocked:

-Paid sick leave

-Paid family & medical leave

-Universal childcare

-Universal pre-K

-Expanded Child Tax Credit

-Programs to support reproductive health

And they're wondering why more people aren't having children?

There’s a term in psychology called habituation: the way we stop noticing things we see often. A painting on the wall. A familiar view. Even a person’s kindness.

The brain filters the predictable to save energy. But in doing so, it risks filtering out what makes life feel full.

Not everything that becomes familiar should be forgotten.

Sometimes, attention is an act of love.

The Loneliness No One Talks About

No one warns you about the loneliness that comes with growing.

The silence when old friendships stop fitting, but new ones haven’t formed.

The ache of outgrowing places, conversations, even versions of yourself.

Growth is beautiful, but it can also be isolating.

Keep growing anyway. You’ll find your kindred spirits.

no one talks about how soul-affirming it is to get a “had so much fun with you” text after hanging out. not a meme. not a tiktok. not a link. just a plain little sentence saying “i like you. i like your company.” we live for that.

like when someone sends “still smiling from earlier” hours after the hang. or when they walk you to your car even though it’s 30 feet away. that’s the kind of stuff that ruins me.

Later, the coffee gets cold.

Later, you lose interest.

Later, the day turns into night.

Later, people grow up.

Later, people grow old.

Later, life goes by.

Later, you regret not doing something... when you had the chance.

I refuse to be the kind of person who loses their mind over a delayed train or lets a spilled coffee set the tone for the whole day.

I want to be the one who stays composed, who sees the good even when things don’t go as planned. The kind of person who breathes through the little chaos and still finds beauty in how the day unfolds.

I want to be soft. I want to be steady.

I English, we have only one form of the infinitive "to be" and it sounds permanent. Saying "I am an accountant" is tantamount to a reflection of identity rather than career, as does "I am bipolar" or "I am a Democrat."

But what if you're no longer that thing?

In other languages, Spanish included, two forms of "to be" exist, one permanent, and one temporary, to indicate to the listener what the speaker is referencing. So in English when we say "I am..." followed by an idea or a belief (or God forb…

Tibetan is interesting - they have a ‘be’ for things that are generally accepted (but you haven’t seen yourself) and a ‘be’ for things you’ve experienced or seen with your own eyes.

There’s a similar concept from (I think) German philosophy: “Wissen” which might be called “secondhand information or belief (which could be true or false)” and “Erfahrung” which I take to mean “firsthand knowledge, from one’s personal experience.”

Forty minutes ago I mentioned pro-Hamas lawyer Fahad Ansari. I’ve just been looking at his social media history and oh my, guess what I found? This looks like a hate crime to me, so I’m reporting it via met.police.uk/report

Genocidal islamofascist group Hamas is now using the ECHR to challenge its British government designation as a terrorist group. London-based lawyer Farhad Ansari has submitted a legal application to the Home Office, claiming that by making it illegal for Hamas supporters to yelp and snarl on British streets, this country is somehow guilty of genocide.

In a video released by his company, Riverway Lawyers, Ansari proudly states in a strong foreign accent, “We are instructed by Hamas”. Well yes, he is, isn’t he? So we should treat him as a terrorist, too.
