I grew up in a church that did not encourage hand raising, and I followed suit with my own judgments on the matter.

But as I’ve grown and observed a variety of church gatherings—as I’ve grown and come to feel my body responding to my spirit, I often think what a shame it would be to get to the end of ones life, having shown the most passion or emotion at something like a football game instead of in the house of God.
