So, as many of you know I'm mostly housebound, and am writing a book about the wildlife I see from my house/garden. It's mostly about birds and mamals and bees that are common to urban environments. But last year I was hugely fortunate to get to see a raven nest on a local tower, and I dedicate a whole chapter to their journey - nest building, brooding, chick feeding etc. It was amazing!
Except this year they decided to nest on the other side of the tower. I was devastated - it brought such joy to watch them, and even the 5min drive is too much on most days. BUT - they have now left the nest ‘branched’ and have wandered around the ledge to my side of that tower, so I get to see them again. Yey!
