Over the past year(ish) I've been sketching, noodling, finessing and articulating a mental model for work that can replace the corporate ladder, which frankly no longer reflects the reality we find ourselves in.

These days, more and more people are pursuing unconventional career paths. People jump across roles and industries, they have side hustles and personal brands. Layoffs are happening everywhere and the fear of impending redundancy hangs over a lot of people's heads (it's all I talk about with my friends who work in big corporates and tech). Many A players are also proactively opting out of the grind because they realise that there are smarter ways to channel their ambition.

A lot of people find themselves in freelancer-world, but IMO this work structure also has its issues.

Instead of a job description, you choose a niche.

Instead of an employer, you often rely on one main client.

Instead of earning a salary, you structure your income around day rates which cap your earning potential in exactly the same way.

The corporate ladder and the freelancer business model both fall short so I've been working on an alternative...

The "Career Web".

The Career Web is a way of making sense of and structuring non-linear or portfolio careers that doesn't force us into niches, linear narratives or boxes. It says that we can intentionally and strategically design multiple income streams with points of leverage in a way that:

a) mitigates risk and creates long term security, and

b) allows us to express who we really are

Over the last 6.5 years of being self employed, 3 years of portfolio-careering and 2 years of mentoring others in this space, I now know that there is a very specific and structured way of building your Career Web. And I turned it into a method.

I've called this **drumroll**...The Portfolio Career Build Method.

Over the last 6 months I've been testing this method with my 1:1 mentoring clients and have received endless feedback and made countless iterations.

Last September, I took the plunge and ran my very first cohort of The Portfolio Career Build Method with 10 incredible humans from all around the world. It was magical ✨

And now...

I'm officially launching the Build Method in July as a 6 week transformational program to help high performers rethink their approach to work, and design a portfolio career of multiple interests and income streams that deeply aligns with who they are.
