A month ago, I started losing more paid subscribers than I was gaining. The arrow turned grey and angry, pointing downwards.

Want to know how I turned it green and pointing up again?

By changing absolutely nothing.

No discounts, no offers, no extra posts or reduction in posts. I stayed consistent, as I have since joining Substack a year ago.

Sometimes, there’s a sudden change in the tide. If you flow calmly with it, rather than trying to go against it, you might find you end up right where you began.

Where I began is:

slow, sustainable growth. That’s where I want to be. Growing my whole community on here (free/paid) and hearing that people are enjoy the writing.
