"My social media team is great, they will handle Reddit for me..."
Ummm... I have bad news: Even most experienced social media pros will likely be burnt alive on Reddit... Trust me, I've been there!
To show Reddit in practice, I did a quick test for you (and burnt a few Karma points of mine within 5 seconds 😅 😨)
I found a trick on TikTok, which was very well-received there. A mom created an automated action on her iPhone to remind her kids how much she misses and loves them...
Of course, I had my doubts if my two monsters, whom I call my kids, would appreciate anything like this, but the comments were so heart-warming that it made me pause and read them...
Then, for the fun of it, I decided to share this tip on Reddit (trust me, I knew where it was going, but I thought that would make a great screenshot).
Boy, was I not wrong. I kept the post there for a few minutes and deleted it because I had had enough. But here you go :)
THE BOTTOM LINE HERE:
😱 These are the same people discussing your brand on Reddit, and all of those discussions become evergreen, ranking in Google for years. These are discussions being used for LLM training, whether you agree with that or not.
👉 If you think your reputation management on Reddit can be done using the same strategy that works elsewhere, you will be surprised :)
