I've just seen the clip of the Richard Tice interview with Laura Kuenssberg.

When asked about the Reform candidate in Sunderland who said that Nigerian people should be melted down and used to fill potholes, Tice's response was extraordinary.

He used the practiced phrase "smearing and sneering" twice, in an effort to downplay the allegations.

He quickly pivoted the subject away from anti-black racism to start talking about antisemitism, which he described as "the greatest threat" facing the UK. There's your hierarchy of racism right there.

Accused of harbouring anti-black racists: Use Jews as human shields.

He then went on to explicitly accuse the Green Party of being antisemitic. This is a party led by a Jewish man by the way.

Kuenssberg did not intervene, and no Green representatives were given time on the show to refute Tice's smears, which seems like quite a brazen breech of BBC impartiality rules.

Kuenssberg also missed the opportunity to raise the issue of other Reform candidates in the local elections, when many might have considered it an opportune moment to point out that Reform just got a Holocaust denier elected in Merseyside.

If Tice cares so much about antisemitism that he'll use it to distract from anti-black racism in his party's own ranks, how come Reform just stood a candidate who said that the mass slaughter of Jews during WWII was "a hoax"?
