WORD FACT

A “tautogram” is a text whose words all begin with the same letter. For example,

Swimming salmon soar, showing shimmering silver scales.

Unlike alliteration, in a tautogram the same initial sound need not be repeated.

Thus:

“Final Pharaoh” → an alliteration, but not a tautogram.

“Proud Pharaoh” → a tautogram, but not an alliteration.

“Phony Pharaoh” → both an alliteration and a tautogram.
