1945 - 1975 were the years US TFR exceeded 2.0, and Peak Boom was 1960. Thus it is probably accurate to label anyone born in the 1960s, such as myself, as Boomers.
The structures and institutions described as “Boomer” were actually erected by the pre-WW2 generation. The bipartisan team of legislators who introduced the Civil Rights Act of 1964 were all born around the year 1900. The 60s counter-culture thought leaders like Jerry Garcia and Abbie Hoffman were born in the 1930s and 40s. (Psychedelic hippie prophet Timothy Leary was born in 1920.) The Frankfurt School which the hippie generation adopted and proceeded to upend academia with was propounded by fossils from the 19th century.

After the 2008 bailouts, my father born in 1944 told me the institutions had collapsed and been wholly captured.
