Dogs jumping up on people seems to be a massive concern reported by pet guardians (owners). As a disabled person, dogs jumping up on me can be dangerous. Kudos to you for wanting to train your dog kindly.

Historically, dog trainers have told guardians to kick their dogs in the chest for jumping up. Not only is that animal abuse, but it doesn’t work as well as most guardians hope.

Some positive dog trainers suggest teaching a dog to sit, but that in itself can cause more problems.
