This is unfortunately a product of Christian (specifixally Augustinian) morality regarding Original Sin (Concupiscence) and the inherent state of guilt one is apparently born into. Remove Christian theology from the picture while the morality remains and the desire to confess and repent will manifest itself with no concrete concept of Sin to be the subject of these rituals.

Without Sin, you see the expression of guilt for merely existing while White (especially via unasked apologies to nons), and the bizzare humiliation rituals certain Whites feel compelled to undertake (like iDubbz’ public cuckoldry or Vaush’s unforced admissions of his various deviant fetishes); replacing the rituals of repentance and confessional, respectively.
