Evil doesnt ever cause good. If evil is always an occasion for good, its increase cannot be celebrated as if it increased the possibility for good because evil has the exact opposite metaphysical character. It is the absence of good, and frusterates good from coming into act. Healing from a sickness is good, it can even leave one healthier than before but healing does not come from some internal good within the sickness itself, nor does healing find its cause in sickness. Its always easier to heal from a sickness when its less acute. There is nothing therefore to celebrate in heresy or scandal.
